HRDA Origins
HRDA was formed to meet the need for an Human Resources for Development Hub in Australia to serve the Asia Pacific region and to gather the expertise of senior experienced professionals selected for their understanding of the development context and sector.
The principals and many of the associates of HRDA have a history of working together as staff of, consultants for, or advisors to the University of New South Wales HRH Knowledge Hub. Indeed, to some extent the formation of HRDA is a response to the lower profile the HRH Hub has had to assume in recent years and therefore the vacuum that needs to be filled in high quality HRH thinking in the Asia Pacific Region.
HRDA draws upon a wealth of HRH experience and expertise, forged in the Western Pacific Region and in the domestic Australian market. The foundation shareholders include Dr Graham Roberts who was previously the Deputy Director of the HRH Hub but before that held important and influential positions in setting the direction of HRH in Fiji and Papua New Guinea and many other Pacific nations. Other foundation shareholders formed and have operated a strategic HRH research company in Australia for over 20 years providing critical advice to national, state and local governments and their service providers.
